Acne Treatments

Performed at our Northside (Atlanta, GA) & Phipps Plaza locations.

Acne can be an embarrassing skin condition whether you’re a teenager or an older adult. It strikes for many reasons including hormones, reactions to medications, even the use of oily or greasy hair products. While acne is not caused by dirty skin, but a combination of factors (like skin’s oil production and dead skin cells), it can still cause a drop in self-confidence.

eMax™ Acne Treatments

Acne treatments with eMax™ with elōs™ technology at AYA Medical Spa in Atlanta, GA combines the energy of natural photodynamic therapy with radio frequency to target oil glands and eliminate the bacteria that mixes with skin’s oil to form pimples. This safe treatment helps to eliminate current acne while preventing the condition from progressing.

Acne Treatments with Chemical Peels

Another effective acne treatment is one of AYA’s custom chemical peels. While many people reserve chemical peels for anti-aging treatments, certain options can also help treat the pimples and inflammation associated with acne. Laser Acne Treatment FAQs

How does elōs™ work to treat acne?
The elōs™ (eMax™) acne treatment system works by targeting the sebaceous glands that produce excess oil as well as the bacteria that causes acne. Laser light technology paired with radiofrequency energy work together to slow down the spread of bacteria across the skin, while stimulating the skin’s natural healing properties.

Is elōs™ acne treatment painful?
No topical anesthetics are required for elōs™ acne treatment, and the elōs™ applicator is cooled to maximize patient comfort and safety. Most patients feel quite comfortable throughout the treatment and return to their normal activities immediately. This treatment is also safe for most skin types and tones.

How often will I need to receive laser acne treatments?
Each person’s skin condition differs, which means that the frequency of treatments will vary based on your individual situation. We typically begin performing treatments two times a week for four to six weeks. After the initial treatments take effect, treatments can be spaced further apart.

Who is a good candidate for elōs™ acne treatment?
Individuals with mild to moderate acne on the face or body who would like an alternative to oral and topical treatments make ideal candidates for eMax™ with elōs™ laser acne treatment. Certain medical conditions like individuals with pacemakers, arrhythmias, or epilepsy may be ineligible for treatment. Schedule a consultation to find out if acne treatment with elōs™ is right for you.
