Facial Fillers

Operated through Atlanta Plastic Surgery, AYA medical spa understands the delicate nature of facial structure and cosmetic skin treatments. While aging is inevitable, the signs of aging don’t have to be. AYA offers several facial rejuvenation options such as Botox® , Juvederm® , Radiesse® , and Sculptra® Aesthetic to fill areas of lost volume and minimize the appearance of the wrinkles and furrows that appear between and around the eyes, along the forehead, and on the cheeks.

Atlanta Juvederm® Treatment at AYA Medical Spa

Juvederm®XC is a cosmetic skin treatment performed by AYA’s licensed nurse injector to fill, or re-plump, the furrows that develop on the cheeks and lips with age as collagen production decreases. Juvederm® XC is an injectable gel containing a form of hylauronic acid, which your body naturally produces in its youth, to keep your skin supple and smooth. Juvederm®XC is infused with proportional amounts of lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to minimize any pain associated with the treatment. Most Juvederm® facial rejuvenation patients report visible cosmetic improvement that lasts for up to a year. Like the other dermal injectable products offered by AYA (Botox® , Radiesse® , and Sculptra® Aesthetic), treatment merely consists of a few short, minimally painful injections to specific facial regions.

Juvederm® Treatment FAQs

How long do the results from Juvederm® injections last?
Most wrinkle reduction patients who receive Juvederm® see visible wrinkle reduction for six months to a year following their initial treatment.

Are there any side-effects associated with Juvederm® XC treatment?
Because Juvederm® treatment results are temporary, there are very few major side effects associated with the treatment. Some Juvederm® patients report temporary redness and swelling at the injection site that subsides within a couple of days.

Are Juvederm® XC injections painful?
Juvederm® XC is unique in that one of its ingredients is the local anesthetic lidocaine. The mixture minimizes any pain associated with the procedure. Additionally, your AYA nurse injector may also use a topical treatment or ice to numb the area prior to treatment.

What areas can be treated with Juvederm® XC?
Juvederm® is FDA approved to treat the wrinkles that develop between the nose and the mouth (smile lines), the creases of the cheek (marionette lines), and the small vertical lines that can appear along the upper lip.

Sculptra® Aesthetic Facial Rejuvenation

AYA Medical Spa’s certified nurse injector uses Sculptra® Aesthetic to rejuvenate the appearance of lines around the nose and mouth of patients. Using the power of polylactic (fruit) acid, Sculptra® Aesthetic stimulates the body’s own ability to produce collagen and prevent the formation of further facial wrinkles.

An initial series of Sculptra® Aesthetic treatments, spaced six to eight weeks apart, are recommended to jump-start your body’s ability to increase skin elasticity. Most Sculprta® Aesthetic patients report noticeable results withfirmer, less wrinkled, younger looking skin for up to two years following treatment.

Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatment FAQs

What areas can be treated with Sculptra® Aesthetic?
Sculptra® Aesthetic can be used to gradually eliminate existing and future deep wrinkles on the temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin.

How long does Sculptra® treatment take?

Like most other dermal injectables, each Sculptra® Aesthetic treatment takes only 10-15 minutes to complete. A Sculptra® Aesthetic regimen consisting of a series of 3 treatments repeated every six to eight weeks is recommended first. After the initial series, Sculptra® Aesthetic results can be seen for up to two years.

Is there any down time associated with Sculptra™ treatment?
No, there is no significant down time associated with dermal injectable treatments like Sculptra® Aesthetic. Some patients do report minor redness or swelling at the injection site, but are able to return to their normal activities immediately following treatment.

Radiesse® Facial Filler

Radiesse® treatment at Atlanta’s AYA Medical Spa can be used to replump lost soft tissue volume of the temples, cheeks, and areas around the nose and mouth. Unlike dermal injectables like Botox®, which relax wrinkle causing muscles, Radiesse® uses a calcium-based sub-structure to recompose the supple, soft appearance of youth facial tissue. Additionally, Radiesse® boosts the body’s ability to produce collagen to increase skin’s elasticity and decrease the appearance of facial wrinkles.

Radiesse® Treatment FAQs

What areas can Radiesse® treat?
Because the components of Radiesse® are naturally occurring in the body, there are fewer restrictions with treatment areas. Most Radiesse® patients receive the treatment to rejuvenate the appearance of their cheeks and the areas around the nose and mouth; however, Radiesse® can also systematically rejuvenate the appearance of one’s hands.

Is Radiesse® different from Sculptra® Aesthetic?
Like Radiesse®, Sculptra® Aesthetic is also used to re-plump areas of lost volume; however, Sculptra® Aesthetic uses polylactic acid to incite collagen production instead of calcium-based ingredients.

How many Radiesse® treatments will I need before I notice results?
The gel consistency of Radiesse® will provide immediate improvement in the appearance of facial depressions. There must be a certain amount of Radiesse® injected before the body begins to produce more collagen on its own; therefore, a few treatments (spaced several months apart) are first needed to produce Radiesse®’s long-lasting rejuvenation effects.
