What is the Melanage Skin Lightening System?
The Melanage Skin Lightening System is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin, such as uneven skin tone, deep pigment issues, and/or melasma. A medicated masque is applied by a licensed esthetician and you are then provided with products for an at-home regimen.

How does it work?
The Melanage Masque is applied during an office visit at AYA where it is compounded freshly by your licensed esthetician to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by the patient after a determined length of time, based on their skin type. Patients will leave the office with this masque on their face and are then responsible for removing the mask and following an easy, yet strict, at-home regimen with the products provided.

What results can I expect?
There is no pain and very minimal irritation during the application of the mask. Typically the irritation level on the first few days following the peel is similar to a sunburn. Results will vary; however, most patients will see a significant improvement in the appearance of pigmented areas. Dark spots will lighten and skin texture and tone will improve. Although most patients experience peeling of their skin, not every patient will notice this. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you are still receiving all the benefits of the Melanage Skin Lightening System, such as stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines and pigmentation. Proper skin evaluation by your esthetician prior to your peel is important and will help predict the outcome of your peel.
