AYA Spotlight Treatment of the Month: Chemical Peels

August 28, 2018 | Blog

Welcome to the latest installment in our Treatment of the Month series. This month, we’ll be focusing our attention on one of our true staples: the chemical peel. One of the quintessential cosmetic treatments for the face, chemical peels have been among our most consistently in-demand services for years. This is due to their outstanding ability to treat damaged facial skin and promote a radiant, glowing complexion.

What makes chemical peels at AYA so special?

Here at AYA, we offer a full menu of chemical peel options that can be used to treat a wide variety of facial imperfections. For patients interested in reducing facial wrinkles and lines, we may recommend the Vitalize Peel®. The Melanage Peel can help those who experience hyperpigmentation issues, age spots, sun spots, and melasma by stimulating natural collagen production. Our experienced estheticians can evaluate your skin and recommend the perfect peel to meet your specific goals.

How painful is it to undergo a chemical peel?

While some patients may experience some degree of discomfort during their chemical peel, we are able to use a cooling agent to soothe the skin and reduce this discomfort. Following the procedure, some patients experience red, flushed skin similar to a sunburn. This is only temporary, though. If you have more sensitive skin you may notice some temporary swelling, but this will subside as the results of your peel begin to take form.

How are chemical peels at AYA different than other medical spas?

A chemical peel is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Different chemical peels vary dramatically based on their degrees of strength and the benefits they can provide. We pride ourselves on offering a chemical peel option for every skin type and tone. In addition to a wide variety of the most in-demand chemical peels on the market, we also provide customized chemical peels designed to help patients with more unique aesthetic needs.

With so many options, it can be challenging to know which chemical peel is the best fit for your skin. This is why we offer complimentary skincare analysis appointments for any patient who wants to find out their best treatment option. For more information or to schedule your chemical peel, contact AYA Medical Spa or stop into any of our three locations (Avalon, Phipps Plaza, or Northside). Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+ for additional skincare tips, photos, and recommendations.
