Dear #AYA: Cosmetic Treatments for the Legs

Welcome back to another entry in our Dear #AYA series. The summertime seems to have people thinking about their beach bodies. We have received a ton of questions from people trying to look and feel their best during vacation season. Specifically, we’ve heard from many patients seeking cosmetic treatments to help rejuvenate the appearance of their legs. That’s why our skincare experts have stopped by to answer a few questions about some of the exciting cosmetic services for the legs available at AYA™, including CoolSculpting® Non-Surgical Fat Reduction, PDO Threads, and Laser Hair Removal.

Dear #AYA Cosmetic Treatments for the LegsDear #AYA,

I’ve tried everything to shed fat from my thighs, but haven’t had any success. Can you recommend something that can help trim my legs?

Sincerely,
Getting a Bit Frustrated

Dear Getting a Bit Frustrated,

We have just what you’re looking for. Our licensed providers have been safely and effectively treating excess body fat with CoolSculpting® Non-Surgical Fat Reduction for years. CoolSculpting® is FDA-approved to minimize fat that accumulates on the inner and outer thighs. By using controlled cooling, CoolSculpting® is able to naturally kill fat cells without harming the skin. We recommend CoolSculpting® for people who are trying to get rid of some resistant, stubborn fat in their thigh area, not those who are interested in losing a large amount of weight.

Dear #AYA,

Is there anything I can do to remedy wrinkles and loose skin that appear around my knees?

Sincerely,
Lotion isn’t Cutting it

Dear Lotion isn’t Cutting it,

Although it is popularly known as a treatment for the face, PDO Threads can have astonishing results for patients trying to treat wrinkles that appear above their knees. PDO Threads can help reduce wrinkles and restore smoother, younger-looking skin by stimulating natural collagen production in the legs.

Dear #AYA,

I plan on undergoing Laser Hair Removal sometime in the next month. Is there anything I should do in the weeks leading up to my treatments to help prepare?

Sincerely,
Looking Forward to it

Dear Looking Forward to it,

For patients planning on undergoing laser hair removal, we recommend avoiding plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks leading up to your treatment. This is because the laser targets the roots of leg hair, which can be temporarily removed by waxing or plucking. We also suggest limiting sun exposure to the legs for six weeks before and after treatment to help promote the best possible results.
