Everything You Need to Know About Cheek Filler

Cheek filler, also known as cheek augmentation, is a popular cosmetic treatment that involves injecting dermal fillers into the cheeks to add volume, lift, and contour to the face. In this issue of Beauty Buzz, we’re sharing the best dermal fillers for the cheeks, what cheek filler can and cannot do, how long it lasts, risks and side effects to be aware of, and general pricing information.

What Is Cheek Filler?

Cheek fillers are typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the body that helps to keep the skin hydrated and plump. In cosmetic treatments, HA is derived from a synthetic source and is used to add volume, fill in wrinkles or lines, and enhance facial features.

Best Dermal Fillers For The Cheeks

There are many dermal fillers on the market, but not all of them are suitable for cheek augmentation. The most commonly used fillers for cheek augmentation are HA fillers, such as Juvéderm Voluma, RHA, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Contour. These fillers are FDA-approved and have been shown to be safe and effective for adding volume and definition to the cheeks.

What Cheek Filler Can & Cannot Do

Cheek filler can offer a range of benefits beyond just enhancing the cheeks. It can also reduce the appearance of the nasolabial folds, fill concave temporal hollows, eliminate undereye hollows and dark shadows, which can make the face appear tired or aged, and even replace contour makeup and highlighters by adding volume and lift to the cheeks, creating a more defined and sculpted facial structure. Overall, cheek filler creates a more youthful and balanced appearance on the face. However, cheek filler cannot change the structure of your face or alter your bone structure and is not a replacement for cosmetic surgery if you have excessive sagging of the mid-face.

How Long Does Cheek Filler Last?

The longevity of cheek filler varies depending on the individual’s metabolism and the type of filler used. Generally, HA fillers can last up to 18 months, while other fillers, such as Sculptra, can last up to 2 years. It is important to note that the effects of cheek filler are not permanent and will eventually wear off.

Risks & Side Effects

Like any cosmetic treatment, cheek filler does have some risk of side effects. The most common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness at the injection site. These side effects are usually temporary and should resolve within a few days to a week.

Cost

The cost of cheek filler varies depending on the type of filler used, and the amount of filler needed. On average, the cost of cheek filler can range from $600 to $1,500 per treatment. It is important to note that the cost may increase if multiple syringes are needed to achieve the desired results.
