  • Avoid Taking Hot Showers

Though it may help relax your muscles, it can also strip your skin of natural oils, and leave your skin dry and itchy. Instead, try taking a shower with warm water as this will help detoxify your skin.

  • Gently Cleanse Your Face and Body

Typically after exercising, you may feel sweaty and sticky and you might be tempted to scrub yourself from head to toe to feel squeaky clean. It is important to avoid harsh scrubbing if you have sensitive or dry skin already. Therefore, opt for face washes that suit your skin type and use mild shower gels and a soft washcloth to clean your body.

  • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Drink a lot of water to re-hydrate your skin and body following your workout session. Also, apply moisturizer after taking a shower while your skin is still damp. This helps to lock in moisture and keep the skin soft and smooth. After washing your face, use a light-weight moisturizer that will not clog your pores in your t-zone area, which is more prone to becoming oily.  If you’re lacking moisture in your skin, we offer a moisturizing facial which focuses on restoring moisture to dry, dull skin through the use of specific compounds and creams.

  • Hit the Steam Room

Avoid going to the tanning bed or any direct sun exposure immediately after you leave the gym. The UV rays can cause harm to your skin and may cause wrinkles and sun spots. To prevent direct contact, cover your face with protective clothing or apply multiple layers of sunscreen.
