Owned and operated by the highly-skilled surgeons of Atlanta Plastic Surgery, AYA Medical Spa stays at the forefront of the latest cosmetic technology. The Sciton® laser technology system provides two versatile lasers in one system with the ability to treat numerous skin conditions including acne, wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, keratosis, and spider veins. Patients can choose between the Broadband Light (BBL) and Erbium lasers as well as customize number of treatments and the strength of their laser peel. Each laser provides safe and effective results. To help patients more accurately select their customized Sciton® treatment, the licensed providers of AYA discuss the differences between each laser.

The BBL laser is a dual light-based technology that uses pulsing light energy to generate wavelengths for skin treatments. Sciton® BBL can treat any area of the body including the face, neck, chest, and shoulders. Targeted areas are gently heated to stimulate collagen production to restore youthful, healthy skin. Known as the Forever Young BBL treatment, this laser peel reduces the signs of aging and uneven skin tone. Patients with sun damage or redness can benefit from its photothermal energy that targets small blood vessels. Since the BBL can treat these small vessels, Sciton® can be used for spider vein removal.

Like the BBL laser, Sciton® Erbium laser encourages collagen growth and helps to treat skin conditions such as acne, scarring, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation. The Erbium laser is customizable to different skin types and tones. While both lasers rejuvenate skin, the Sciton® Erbium MicroLaserPeel is slightly different as it is an intra-epidermal laser peel while the Forever Young BBL treatment delivers light energy to the upper layers of skin. The MicroLaserPeel can treat wrinkles, scars, sun damage, and keratosis.

Our Sciton® laser system is available at our AYA Northside location. Since Sciton® laser technology can treat a wide range of conditions and skin types, it is important to schedule a skin analysis to determine a proper treatment plan.
