Dear #AYA: Wrinkle Reduction Treatments that Work

June 28, 2017 | Blog

Dear #AYA Wrinkle Reduction Treatments that WorkWrinkles and fine lines on a person’s face may be a completely natural side effect of aging, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. Wrinkles can make us look and feel older than we are, especially the ones that appear on the face that are visible for all to see. Thankfully, reducing wrinkles is one of our main focuses here at AYA Medical Spa. Our many wrinkle reduction treatments are designed to help patients of all ages rejuvenate their appearance by fighting the most visible signs of aging. This is especially important throughout the summer, when the sun’s UV rays are prone to causing the most skin damage. With this in mind, our skincare experts have taken the time to answer a few questions about some of the exciting wrinkle reduction treatments available at AYA, such as Chemical Peels, Ultherapy® and Sciton® Laser Treatments.

Dear #AYA,

I am considering a chemical peel to help treat my wrinkles, but can’t decide which one to get. What is the difference between your chemical peels?

Sincerely,

Considering My Options

Dear Considering My Options,

This is a great question. We offer a wide variety of chemical peels that each offer unique benefits to our patients. Certain chemical peels are stronger than others, meaning the skin will peel to varying degrees. Some peels, like the Vi Peel, have additional benefits that others may not like the ability to safely even out the patient’s skin tone. The best way to know which chemical peel will most benefit your unique skin type is to come into AYA for a complimentary skincare analysis.

Dear #AYA,

Will Ultherapy® treatments require extensive recovery time?

Sincerely,

A Bit Too Busy

Dear A Bit Too Busy,

In addition to its excellent ability to treat wrinkles and tighten sagging facial skin, our patients love that Ultherapy® Skin Tightening does not require any downtime for recovery. Ultherapy® treatments are FDA-approved to be safe and do not have any known major side effects. Some patients may experience some redness or tenderness following their treatments, but these effects are generally very mild and temporary.

Dear #AYA

Is there a specific cosmetic laser treatment you would recommend to someone trying to reduce premature wrinkles and other skin damage caused by sun exposure?

Sincerely,

Feeling the Heat

Dear Feeling the Heat,

Halo laser treatments by Sciton® are perfect for treating patients who are experiencing wrinkles and other forms of sun damage, like dark spots. They can also be used to safely and effectively treat other facial imperfections like melasma and hyperpigmentation. By using a hybrid fractional laser system, Halo treatments are able to remove layers of dead and damaged skin while stimulating natural collagen production and tightening the underlying skin from within. Microneedling can also do wonders for treating sun-damaged skin.

Thanks to all the patients who submitted their questions. It’s always a treat for us to provide skincare tips and advice to our patients when we get the chance.
