AYA Medical Spa Now Offering Sciton Laser Treatments

February 05, 2013 | Other, What's New at AYA

The licensed providers at AYA are happy to introduce the latest addition to our non-surgical rejuvenation treatments, Sciton® laser technology. With two different lasers in one system, patients can treat a wide range of skin conditions such as acne, unwanted hair, signs of aging, and pigment irregularities. Patients can choose between the Erbium laser offered in Sciton’s MicroLaserPeel treatments or the Broadband Light (BBL) laser which is used in laser hair removal and to treat minor skin conditions.Sciton-Laser treatments Atlanta GA

Sciton’s MicroLaserPeel skin resurfacing treatment addresses the signs of aging, sun damage, keratosis, pigment irregularities, and scarring. The Erbium laser is customizable to different skin types and tones. The treatment’s depth is measured in microns, which are equivalent to the diameter of a fine human hair.  The MicroLaserPeel can range in strength from 4 to 50 microns depending on the patient’s unique needs. Similar to a chemical peel or microdermabrasion, the MicroLaserPeel removes the damaged outer layer of skin and encourages collagen production for healthier, younger looking skin.

The BBL laser can treat all areas of the body to address acne, unwanted hair, vascular lesions, and uneven skin texture. The BBL laser delivers photothermal energy to hair follicles in laser hair removal treatments to prevent future hair growth. Like the Erbium laser, BBL also stimulates collagen production to restore skin to a more youthful appearance. However, depending on the patient, BBL may require additional treatments for optimal results.

Sciton® Laser Technology is non-surgical and requires minimal downtime. Since there are two lasers available, Sciton® is versatile in resolving a variety of skin conditions whether it’s related to aging or hair removal.
